On vacation this past summer we dove into and went digging through a little thrift outlet for books, music and video.  When I surfaced, I brought up a book of Shirley Jackson stories.  I already had stand-alone copies of The Haunting of Hill House and We Have Always Lived in the Castle so I was most interested in the short stories which included The Lottery.  I just read this little gem of disturbance and am so glad that I took the time to get my hands dusty and dirty in that book bin.
